We first met Nick and Norma at the Harrogate Homebuilding & Renovation Show in 2021. After downsizing from a large modular self-build to a bungalow, they reached out the following Christmas looking to create a dedicated garden space for entertaining and spending time with their growing family.

Their wide, uneven garden presented a unique challenge, with almost a one-metre difference in height from one side to the other. To make the most of the available space, our team designed a levelled foundation system using panelised steel retaining walls, creating a strong, stable base for the new structure and decking area.

The result is a modern family retreat that extends the home into the garden — perfect for gatherings and year-round enjoyment. The building features dual sets of bifold doors with integral blinds, two large picture windows for natural light, and composite slatted cladding that gives the exterior a sleek, contemporary look. A spacious composite deck and perimeter fencing complete the outdoor design, providing privacy and a seamless flow from
indoor comfort to outdoor living.
