Our preferred choice of foundations would be ground screws. Concrete is now the second most consumed substance on Earth after water. Ground screws are the innovative foundation solution that bypasses the need for traditional foundations like concrete and offer the perfect solution for projects on sloping, uneven ground or in hard-to-access areas. As well as being more environmentally friendly, ground screws offer several benefits over concrete:

✅ no digging or excavation required
✅ no mess or damage to your site or the surrounding area
✅ ground screws are 70% faster to install than concrete – and you can build on them straight away
✅ we can install any time of the year, in any weather, without concerns of frost or rain delaying installation

Ground screws offer both permanent and temporary foundations for hard-to-access areas, sloping ground conditions and are an excellent choice in preservation areas. They offer a low-carbon alternative to concrete based foundations that are not only better for the environment.

Available in an extensive range of lengths and diameters, ground screws can achieve the desired load-bearing capacity in different ground conditions to suit your application.

We use galvanised steel frame to construct all of our rooms. There's many advantages of steel over timber when it comes to construction. Using modern methods of construction, light gauge steel is becoming increasingly popular in today’s world with benefits of;

✅ fast installation
✅ consistent quality
✅ non-combustible
✅ resistant to moisture and pests
✅ far stronger frame in comparison to timber
✅ no rot, warp or defects
✅ no wastage
✅ option to dismantle & re-use
✅ 95% recyclable

The environmental advantages of using steel frame in construction over timber is the sustainability. No trees need to be cut down when using steel. As a comparison, a 2000 sq. ft house would require 40-50 trees; as supposed to steel, which would use 6 scrapped cars that are endlessly recyclable. We need to think about our future when it comes to building; what happens when we take down buildings? We need to use materials that can be recycled but do not loose their integrity and quality. Steel is the perfect solution.

DB-Space have a strong background in insulation, we know the importance of thermal efficiency. We have noticed that the majority of garden room companies are not emphasising the importance of a well insulated room. We decided to do things differently, that is why we build as standard rooms that meet current building regulations for new build, thermal efficiency. The garden rooms that we are offering are, easy to heat, cool in the summer & warm in winter. Due to the high level of insulation, you also have the benefit of a quiet room, a room where you actually feel like your in your main dwelling, a feeling which is far superior to some of the leading garden rooms companies.

We use EDPM rubber membrane, this product allows for a low gradient of roof slope which allows for additional head room at the rear of the building. Due to its exceptional durability, easy maintenance and suitability for recycling, RubberCover EPDM is one of the most eco-friendly roofing products on the market. Several third-party studies have proven that EPDM membranes have a lower environmental impact compared to other roofing membranes. RubberCover EPDM membrane is chemically inert and releases no toxic ingredients, making it suitable for the recuperation of rainwater for sanitary use. In addition, the system is compatible with extensive green roofs and photovoltaic systems, further contributing towards a sustainable environment.

Every installation comes with a 10 year material warranty.
