The environmental advantages of using steel frame in construction over timber is the sustainability. No trees need to be cut down when using steel. As a comparison, a 2000 sq. ft house would require 40-50 trees; as supposed to steel, which would use 6 scrapped cars that are endlessly recyclable. We need to think about our future when it comes to building; what happens when we take down buildings? We need to use materials that can be recycled but do not loose their integrity and quality. Steel is the perfect solution.
DB-Space have a strong background in insulation, we know the importance of thermal efficiency. We have noticed that the majority of garden room companies are not emphasising the importance of a well insulated room. We decided to do things differently, that is why we build as standard rooms that meet current building regulations for new build, thermal efficiency. We use EDPM rubber membrane, this product allows for a low gradient of roof slope which allows for additional head room at the rear of the building. Due to its exceptional durability, easy maintenance and suitability for recycling, RubberCover EPDM is one of the most eco-friendly roofing products on the market. Several third-party studies have proven that EPDM membranes have a lower environmental impact compared to other roofing membranes. RubberCover EPDM membrane is chemically inert and releases no toxic ingredients, making it suitable for the recuperation of rainwater for sanitary use. When it comes to hooking up your garden room to the mains, you will need to arrange for a local electrician who is registered as part P to install an armoured cable to our RCD unit. For any rooms installed within a 30 mile radius of our workshop in Middlesbrough, we can offer this service through our trusted electrical installer. Price will be on application.
We supply an electric wall mounted heater sufficient to heat the size of your room, it can be controlled from an app on your phone which allows you to heat the room prior to use.
We also install a decentralised mechanical extraction ventilation unit, to remove stale air, moisture and humidity.
All decking and steps are expertly fitted using a galvanised steel sub-frame with a foundation of ground screws.
